Village and surroundings:

Piasek is a former fishing village of medieval origin (first mentioned in 1270), today with approx. 440 inhabitants. An old lime-tree avenue has been preserved along the main road, and a neo-Gothic brick church from 1865, listed in the register of historic monuments, towers over the village buildings. The plots lie on the northern, rural edge of the village: the buildings begin just beyond the southern boundary of the complex, but no building touches its boundaries; all around are fields and meadows. The village has a primary school (approx. 100 m from the plots), a shop (approx. 200 m) and a bus stop (approx. 300 m). There is a lake approx. 160 m from the complex, and the village itself lies on a side arm of an old Odra riverbed (oxbow). Larger shopping trips can be made in Cedynia and Chojna, on the German side at the Oder-Center shopping centre in Schwedt, and in Osinów Dolny there are large border markets.

Recreation:

Beyond the village begins Puszcza Piaskowa, a compact forest complex with an area of approx. 63.5 km², entirely within the boundaries of Cedyński Park Krajobrazowy. The Odra and its backwaters are a destination for anglers and water sports, and the river valley with its reed beds and meadows begins right next to the village. Approx. 6 km to the south-west, near Bielinek, lies the Bielinek nature reserve with the only natural site of the downy oak in Poland. On the German side of the river stretches the Lower Oder Valley National Park (Nationalpark Unteres Odertal) with its centre in Criewen near Schwedt, the Blue Velo cycling route (Odrzańska Trasa Rowerowa, the Oder Cycle Route) runs through the area, and near Cedynia, on Góra Czcibora hill, stands a monument and viewpoint commemorating the victory of Mieszko I in 972.
