Description

Building plots for sale in the village of Breń, in gmina Bierzwnik (municipality), powiat choszczeński (Choszczno county), West Pomeranian Voivodeship, north-western Poland, 11 km from Dobiegniew. The complex, with a total area of 2 388 m², forms a rectangle of approx. 34 × 82 m adjoining an asphalt road; it also includes plot no. 202/3, which provides the access point. The terrain is flat, a mown meadow with single birches, and to the east a dense belt of trees and shrubs gives natural shelter. Each plot has a zoning decision (Polish 'warunki zabudowy', WZ) for single-family residential development. The village lies on Lake Breń, in the Dobiegniew Lakeland (Pojezierze Dobiegniewskie), approx. 2 km from the forests of Puszcza Drawska.

Location and access:

Breń lies between Bierzwnik and Wygon, approx. 5.5 km east of Bierzwnik. The plots are on the asphalt road, surrounded by meadows and fields, with the loose village development on the other side of the road. Voivodeship road no. 160 (Choszczno - Dobiegniew) runs through Bierzwnik and crosses national road no. 22 in Dobiegniew. Bierzwnik also has a railway station on line no. 351 Poznań - Szczecin, with trains towards Choszczno, Stargard and Szczecin as well as Krzyż.

Village and surroundings:

Breń is a village with its own council (sołectwo) of approx. 560 inhabitants, more than one eighth of the population of the municipality. It is of medieval origin: it is listed among the villages taken over at the turn of the 13th and 14th centuries into the estates of the Cistercian abbey in Bierzwnik, and from 1660 to 1818 a glassworks operated here. On site there are the parish church of St Joseph, a village community hall, a branch of the municipal library and a post office agency. Everyday shopping is done in Bierzwnik, where chain supermarkets (Dino, Stokrotka) operate. The village buildings begin approx. 300 m from Lake Breń.

Recreation:

Lake Breń (approx. 29 ha), elongated in shape, lies just beyond the village buildings. Approx. 2 km to the north, already among the forests of Puszcza Drawska, stretches Lake Przytoczno, also called Wielkie Wyrwy, the largest in the municipality (approx. 222 ha), with a firm, sandy bottom and a depth of up to 12.5 m; on its peninsula lies the Łasko nature reserve, a former breeding colony of grey herons, and from the village of Łasko a road leads to a camping site. Forests cover more than half of gmina Bierzwnik, there are 42 lakes within its area, and the north-eastern edge of the municipality reaches Drawieński Park Narodowy (Drawa National Park). In Bierzwnik it is worth seeing the former Cistercian complex on Lake Kuchta: a Gothic church and the remains of the abbey founded in 1286.
