Description

Building plot for sale, 2 302 m², in the village of Ostrowąsy, 6 km from Barwice, in powiat szczecinecki (Szczecinek county), West Pomeranian Voivodeship, north-western Poland. A rectangular site of approx. 37 × 73 m, an open, gently undulating meadow with single trees and young birches, with a zoning decision (Polish 'warunki zabudowy', WZ) issued for a single-family house. The plot adjoins a road lined with an avenue of old trees, and approx. 300 m further on the forest begins.

Location and access:

A local asphalt road leads to Ostrowąsy from Barwice, where voivodeship roads no. 172 and 171 meet. By car it is 6 km to Barwice and approx. 30 km to Szczecinek. Szczecinek is a railway junction with direct trains to Poznań, Piła and Kołobrzeg, among other destinations, and the town is bypassed by a dual carriageway forming part of the S11 expressway.

Village and surroundings:

Ostrowąsy is a village with its own council (sołectwo) in gmina Barwice (municipality), with approx. 300 inhabitants, situated on the Gęsia stream, a tributary of the Parsęta. The village has medieval origins: for centuries it was a fief of the von Zastrow family, and the reminders of this history are the half-timbered church of Our Lady of the Rosary (in its present form dating from 1728, but of older origin) with a baroque altar and pulpit, the remains of a palace park from the 18th century and a hillfort from the 10th to 12th century on the wooded Gardzka Góra hill, 1.5 km west of the village. On site there is a village community hall and a bus stop, the nearest primary school is approx. 3.5 km away, and shopping and offices are in Barwice. The plot's neighbourhood is purely agricultural: grain fields and meadows, the village buildings in the distance, forest and wind farm turbines on the horizon.

Recreation:

Gmina Barwice lies in the Drawsko Lakeland, in a hilly post-glacial landscape with the lakes Koprzywno, Dębno and Sierakowo; the nearest of them, Koprzywno, is approx. 8-9 km from the plot, beyond Barwice. Połczyn-Zdrój (22 km) is a spa town with more than 300 years of tradition in treatment with therapeutic mud and brine, and with the historic Park Zdrojowy (spa park, approx. 80 ha). Beyond the town, in the Szwajcaria Połczyńska (Połczyn Switzerland), lies the Dolina Pięciu Jezior (Five Lakes Valley) nature reserve, where the Drawa begins, and further on stretches Drawski Park Krajobrazowy (Drawsko Landscape Park) with 47 lakes, including Lake Drawsko, the second deepest in Poland (approx. 80 m). Szczecinek (30 km) offers full urban facilities: a hospital with a round-the-clock emergency department, an indoor swimming pool and a cinema, and on Lake Trzesiecko a park with a promenade, a pier and a water-ski cable lift, one of the longest in Europe; in summer municipal bathing areas operate here.
