Location and access:

A county road runs through the village straight to Kołobrzeg, becoming ulica Starynowska in the town; a second county road links Nowogardek with neighbouring Drzonowo. You reach the complex on asphalt, and the whole block adjoins two roads: from the north and from the west. The bus stop is approx. 60 m from the complex. From the station in Kołobrzeg there are direct trains to Szczecin, Poznań and Warszawa, among others, and the S6 expressway provides fast access to the Kołobrzeg area from the direction of Szczecin and Koszalin.

Village and surroundings:

Nowogardek is a small, quiet village (approx. 110 inhabitants), recorded as early as 1320 as Parvum Nougart, meaning a small stronghold. As one of the few places in gmina Kołobrzeg it has kept its agricultural character, with traces of traditional Pomeranian architecture; the historic house no. 19 dates from 1875. The village lies on low rises between the rivers Błotnica and Dębosznica, and the surrounding landscape is made up of mid-field tree stands and ponds in former gravel pits. Opposite the complex there is a fenced village recreation ground with a shelter and a playground. The nearest shop is approx. 2.5 km away, the school and kindergarten approx. 3.5 km, and full retail and service facilities are in Kołobrzeg.

Recreation:

The nearest seaside places are Dźwirzyno and Grzybowo (approx. 5.5 km in a straight line), where gmina Kołobrzeg has its own beaches and bathing areas. In Dźwirzyno a pine forest stretches over the dunes along the wide beach, and 16 oaks there have been recognised as natural monuments. Approx. 5 km to the north-west lies Lake Resko Przymorskie, a shallow body of water popular with windsurfers and kitesurfers; in Dźwirzyno, at the mouth of the Błotnica, there is a wooden water sports lodge with a marina. Kołobrzeg itself has been a spa town since 1967, with treatment based on brine and peat mud, a reinforced-concrete pier approx. 220 m long and sandy beaches divided into bathing areas. The coastal belt in this area is covered by the Natura 2000 site Trzebiatowsko-Kołobrzeski Pas Nadmorski (the Trzebiatów and Kołobrzeg coastal belt).
