Location and access:

Głodowa lies on the former main national road no. 11 Koszalin-Bobolice and has its own junction on the S11 expressway, opened in September 2023. Through traffic has been taken over by the parallel expressway, and from the Głodowa junction you join the route without any detour: 6 km to Bobolice, approx. 35 km to Koszalin. Voivodeship road no. 169, which runs via Dobrociechy towards Tychowo, also ends in the village.

Village and surroundings:

Głodowa is a medieval church village, first mentioned in 1492, today a village with its own council (sołectwo) in gmina Bobolice (municipality) with approx. 200 inhabitants. A stone filial church of Our Lady of Częstochowa from the 17th century has survived here, restored in 1870 and entered in the register of monuments, as well as a palace park from the first half of the 19th century. There is a village community hall on site, in which the sołectwo organises events, and by the former national road there is a restaurant with a motel. Around the plots there is scattered single-family and farm development and a mosaic of fields, meadows and forests. Everyday errands can be done in Bobolice, the seat of the municipality and the second largest town in powiat koszaliński (approx. 3 800 inhabitants); full urban facilities, including a voivodeship hospital, are in Koszalin.

Recreation:

The Chociel, a tributary of the Radew meandering among the hills of a terminal moraine, flows through the surroundings of the village; the nearest stretch of the river is approx. 850 m from the complex, and between Porost and Głodowa the river runs through a chain of broad hollows, formerly separate water bodies. In the village there is a commercial angling fishery on a water body of approx. 7.5 ha, known mainly for carp and grass carp. Within the Bobolice Forest District (Nadleśnictwo Bobolice) there are nature reserves: the lobelia lakes Szare and Piekiełko, the woodland reserve Buczyna and the meadows Łąki Bobolickie in the Chociel valley. The Radew and its tributaries are trout waters, with an approx. 50 km canoe route from Żydowo to Karlino. The nearest way to the sea is to the beach in Mielno (approx. 55 km by road), on the spit between the Baltic Sea and Lake Jamno, one of the largest coastal lakes in Poland.
